The Office of Loan Programs designs, delivers, and manages housing assistance programs for the recruitment and retention of faculty in support of the education, research and public service missions of the University of California.
Eligible faculty are able to apply for a Mortgage Origination Program (MOP) loan for a home purchase. Participation is limited to one MOP per household.
The actual amount of the loan will be based on personal qualification levels and criteria determined by the University, up to the current maximum amount established by UC's Office of Loan Programs. Support is subject to eligibility requirements, ability to qualify for financing, program policy and parameters, campus guidelines, and the availability of mortgage funds allocated to UCSB through this UC program.
MOP eligibility is offered for an initial three-year period, which is renewable (subject to the availability of funds). In rare cases, such as a retention case, a second MOP loan may be authorized.
More information on the MOP Loan can be found at the UC Office of Loan Programs.
